Sometimes God Works In Mysterious Ways.....

In ways you would never expect. A couple of weeks ago we had Stake Conference (a big church meeting) and we weren't able to go, because both Zoey and Porter were sick. What else is new?! Oh right, Regan and Hali were sick this weekend. But I digress. Anyway, at church yesterday, my friend, Julie asked me if we had been at Stake Conference. I told her that we weren't and why and she said that she had the greatest story for me.

Apparently, during the meeting when the Stake President was giving a talk, the fire alarm was triggered. The lights started flashing, a siren went off and a recorded voice was encouraging everyone to evacuate the building. And the building was full. Luckily, Matt, the man who was called to help us turn the alarm off was there and quickly ran for the box. What took him roughly 10 minutes to turn off the night Porter set it off, took about 2 on Sunday. Julie said that when she saw Matt jump up and run out of the room, she got chills and thought of Porter.

So, it wasn't actually the little devil on Porter's shoulder that urged him to pull the fire alarm a couple of weeks ago. It was actually the little guy in white perched on the other shoulder that helped him along. I guess sometimes a curious nature pays off. Who knew.

Doesn't it make you feel good when our kids end up doing good (even though it may not seem like it at the time)? On another note, I may be mistaken, but I'm thinking that maybe that fire alarm needs to be put in a less "child-friendly" place.
