Life has been a little crazy, what with three kids in two different schools, dance and swimming all happening now. So, I haven't been blogging on a regular basis like I usually do.
So a couple of weeks ago, Scott and I donated blood to the American Red Cross. It was my first time! Scott usually donates about once to twice a year and the Red Cross calls my mom on a regular basis, because she so good at donating! I've had such good examples, so I'm a little surprise that I've gotten to the ripe old age of "old" and have never donated blood for a good cause. I mean I've donated plenty of blood for "testing", what with four kids and a pituitary micoradonoma, so I've seen my fair share of needles. But I've never gotten around to donating blood.
So, I was a little nervous, but things went OK. The lady who stuck me was being observed by a superior so she was a little nervous, too and could have been a little more steady, but over all, not too bad. The lady giving blood next to me had a t-shirt on that said "Bite me" so we had a great discussion about the Twilight books.
Poor Scott, though. He had a different nurse than I did, who, by the way, was not being observed so she really has no excuse. I guess she had a hard time getting the needle in and hit his muscle first before she found the vein. This is the results:
And that was taken probably 4 to 5 days after the event. It's still pretty purple and sore. Poor guy.Hali got to go to a birthday party on Friday night. Her friend, Kylee, had a mystery party where they got to dress up like their character. Gosh, why does that sound familiar? The mystery was about a Teen Pop Star, who had some money stolen from her and they had to figure out who did it. Hali's character was Cha Cha, the costume mistress. She was in charge of all 55 costume changes during the concert.
This is Cha Cha and Destiny, the newest Pop sensation.
