You get a call from your child's school and they tell you that your child has been hit in the head with a tennis ball and one of her pupils is smaller than the other and they think that she might have a concussion. Yeah,
love those calls! So, I quickly call the doctor to get Regan in and call Scott to come home and then rush to the school to get Regan. They were playing baseball (only with a tennis ball and a racket) and she just got in the way of the ball that had just been hit by a boy and it hit her right above her eyebrow. She didn't have a concussion, but because she wears glasses, the injury was worse than if she didn't wear glasses. See, the ball hit the top of her glasses and shoved them right into her eye. So she got a really nice bump on her noggin and this lovely black eye.

Sorry that the picture is so blurry, but you get the point. That's not eyeshadow.
By the time I had gotten to the school to pick up Regan, there had already been several students who had rushed to the office because they had heard that Regan had her nose smeared across her face. Then we got a phone call last night from one of Regan's friends to see if she was OK. Rumors were spreading fast about how hurt she was! Sheesh, even in elementary school. Anyway, it'll be funny to see how things go in school today. I'm sure that Regan will get
lots of attention! She'll probably get several hugs just for not being dead.

There is nothing better than a war wound to help the popularity level rise a little bit...let her enjoy this!! By the end of the week it will be the classic fishing story where the fish caught seems to grow and grow and grow....
