I Hate Potty Training!

Caution: liberal use of the words "pee" and "poop" will be used in this post!

I'm so glad this is my last child and it will be the last time I will personally be in charge of potty training. I hate it. Zoey was doing fairly well for a while. She had the pee thing down. She's never mastered the poop. But about two weeks ago the pee thing dribbled away. It's like I have to start all over again! UGH. I'm so tired of saying, "Zoey, do you need to go potty?" She says no and two minutes later she's wet. I'm so tired of washing her sheets, clothes, underwear, everything!!! And I refuse to give up! I refuse to buy diapers! She WILL be potty trained!!! sigh. I really hate potty training.

Christie said...: OOOOHHHH! I am so there with you!!! Levi has pooped in the toilet ONCE this past week. No, he's not constipated. He has made it close to the toilet a few times, on my freshly cleaned carpet more often that I want to think about (yes, I got my carpets cleaned thinking we were just about potty trained and it would be safe, but NOOOO! Progress stalled and we still asking if he needs to go potty every hour. Ugh.) Potty training is my least favorite part of toddlerhood.; March 11, 2010 at 10:36 AM

Did you see the movie, Errand of Angels? I want to blog about it sometime, but once again not sure if I love it because I experience it and wonder whether anyone else feels the same.
I'd love to see everyone at a reunion...I can't believe how much time has gone by.

The kids found a Christmas ornament that we bought before Zoey was born that had all our names, except hers.

Mom: You weren't born, yet.

Mom: You were still in Heaven.
Porter: Yeah, you were with Jesus.
Zoey: Oh! I LOVE Jesus!

Then her face just fell and she said, "but He died for us."
I guess even at four they listen!

Zoey watched the movie Beauty and the Beast for the first time today. During the moment that the beast turns into the prince, she slapped her hands over her mouth like she couldn't believe such a great thing could be happening. When the prince dramatically turns around to show his princely side, she got this really puzzled look on her face. Then said to me, "Him looks like a girl!"

A couple of minutes into sharing time, Zoey tells her teacher, "Her keeps talking and talking all the time!" Then she climbed onto her teachers lap and fell asleep.

Hali was pretending she couldn't talk. Porter walked over to her and slapped her face.
Mom: "Porter! Why in the world did you do that?!"
Porter: "Well...she was going crazy!"

Bought a new movie and inside the DVD case was an advertisement for Chuck E Cheese.
Porter: This movie was brought to us by Chuck E. Cheese!

Porter: Mom, there was a commercial for a Christmas Special and I want to watch it now.
Mom: Porter, I don't think it's on now and I don't think I'll find it on demand.
Porter: But Mom, I want to watch it!
Mom: I know Porter, but I don't think I can help you.
Porter: But Mom, I'm special.

Zoey: Porter likes Dad.
Porter: That's right Zoey! I do like Dad! Except when he get really mad at me. Then he kind of freaks me out.

Dad: You don't have a brother
Porter: Jesus is my brother and he told me I can't eat it because I'm allergic to broccoli.
For the record, Porter is not allergic to broccoli.

Mom: "We are not moving to St. George. We are going on vacation."
Porter: "Oh."
Mom: "When you move, you go somewhere else and you never come back."
Porter: "We're never coming back?!!"

Porter: "On no! I have Grandpa Hands!"
Mom: "Don't worry. They will go away."
Porter: " I guess I can't do swimming lessons anymore, because I don't want Grandpa Hands again."

1-24-2009:
Porter: "What happens if you get a nasty president?"
Dad: "Where did you hear about a nasty president?"
Porter: "I went to the North Pole and a penguin told me that if you get a nasty president, then you die."
(And just for the record, we haven't said anything about President Obama being nasty.)
