Love the musical! We actually went a couple of years ago to Denver with all of Scott's family and saw it there. I think I blew it for myself in Denver. I had been looking forward to it for so long (like two years or so) and while I loved it, there were certain things that bugged me. See, I had been listening to the soundtrack and the Elphaba just didn't compare. I know, who can to not only a recording, but to Idina Mendzel. But still.
This time, even though we've had the tickets for months, I made sure not to get too excited. I didn't even listen to the music until the day of. So color me surprised, when Elphaba AND Glinda were FABULOUS!!! So great! I liked it better the second time than the first!
Scott and I went out to dinner first. We could have gone to dinner with Scott's brother, his wife and a bunch of her family, but decided to just be together. Ok, so we decided to go really cheap. I get that from my mom, no offense mom, but we all know the truth. We ended up going to one of my favorite places to eat! Siegfied's Deli, which also happens to be two shops down from the theater. They have the BEST German food in Salt Lake. Surprisingly, they aren't the only German food here. But what I love best is that it's also partly a market. The import all sorts of German yumminess. Like CHOCOLATE! (picture me drooling like Homer Simpson). Of course, I had to ask them if they carried what I most crave from my days in Austria. The necter of the gods.....Almdudler. (again, I'm channeling Homer) It's a soda drink, by the way, unlike any you've had before. We don't have anything here to compair it too. She said they didn't have any in, but were expecting a shipment next week. I turned to Scott and told him, that's what I want for Mother's day! I can't wait!

So I'm green with envy regarding Wicked AND Almdudler. I recently found a German deli in my town, and while they carry Milka and Mannerschnitten, they don't stock Almdudler, so drink one for me!
I'm glad you had a fun time with Scott. :)
