Highland Stake 5K

Our stake held it's second bi-annual 5k on Saturday and we decided that we would go as a family. So Saturday morning we got the kids up and to the park across the street by 8:00 am. The first half a mile we dealt with DRAMA REGAN. She walked so slow and pouted, then started to cry that her ankle hurt. UGH. We were way behind anyone. Luckily, I had grabbed my ipod shuffle and handed that over to her and the drama was finally over. They did lay out a short cut, which we took, so we actually only walked 2.35 miles. Scott has this computerized pedometer thing so he could tell us how far we had gotten. We did catch up to the rest of the slow ones and weren't the last in, so I was happy. I know that Scott was chaffing at the bit to go faster, but Regan and Hali just aren't that fast. (Yes, I will sell my children out!)

They had fruit and water waiting at the park after and we let the kids play (miraculously, they were fully recovered from the walk even though we heard complaints practically the WHOLE way). There was a man there with a prosthetic leg and before we could stop him, Porter ran up and asked the man if he was a robot! The man laughed and said he was actually a Transformer. Porter thought he was SO cool.
